Disaster Prevention Event for Foreign Residents（外国人のための防災イベント）を開催しました

市民協働推進課では、多文化共生イベント「外国人の皆さんへ 防災について学ぼう！」を令和7年11月8日（土曜）に国際交流研修センター（ログハウス）で開催しました。

これは、守谷市在住の外国人に日本の防災について知ってもらうとともにニーズを把握したり、参加者同士の交流を目的として行ったものです。

国際交流員シルビアさんによるオリエンテーションでは、

• 守谷市公式ホームページの多言語表示の仕方
• 災害時の備えと対応や情報収集方法

などを説明しました。

その後、グループに分かれて意見交換会を実施。
交流会では、「守谷の好きなところ」「自国のいいところ」「守谷市に求めるサービス」「防災のためにやっておくこと」などが話し合われました。

最後に、家に備蓄しておくものや段ボールベッド、防災テントの体験や見学を行い、参加者には携帯トイレなどの防災グッズを配布しました。

参加者からは、

• いつも素晴らしいです！ ありがとうございます。
• 外国人が転入する際に必要な情報を教えてほしいです。
• このイベントでローリングストックなどについて知る事が出来て良かったです。

などの感想・意見が寄せられました。

希望者はイベント終了後に守谷市国際交流協会（MIFA）主催による昼食会に参加し、更に交流を深めました。

Disaster Prevention Event for Foreign Residents

On November 8 （Sat）, the Division for Citizen Cooperation hosted a multicultural event titled “Disaster Prevention for Foreign Residents”.

The purpose of this event was to inform foreign residents of Moriya City about disaster prevention in Japan, to understand their needs and provide an opportunity to interact with other participants.

During the orientation, Sylvia, Coordinator for International Relations in Moriya, explained
・ how to change the display language of the city homepage
・ how to prepare and respond to disasters, and how to gather information in case of a disaster, etc.

Afterwards, participants were split into groups for group discussions.
Topics included things participants like about Moriya and their home countries, services they would like to have in Moriya and how they prepare for disasters.

In the end, participants had the chance to look at items to stockpile at home and try out a cardboard bed and an emergency tent. Disaster prevention supplies such as portable toilets were also distributed.

When asked about their opinions, participants shared the following:
・ It was great, as always! Thank you!
・ I would like to know what information foreigners need when moving here.
・ I am glad I learned about how rolling stock works at this event.

After the event, participants could join a luncheon hosted by the Moriya International Friendship Association （MIFA） to socialize even further.
