Exchange Meeting for Foreigners（外国人のための交流会）を開催しました

市民協働推進課では、令和8年6月21日（日曜）、国際交流研修センター（ログハウス）で「外国人のための交流会」を実施しました。
本イベントは、守谷市や近隣市町村にお住まいの外国人の皆さんに、生活に必要な行政サービス（守谷市・茨城県）、自転車の交通ルール、防災、ごみの分別について知っていただくとともに、日頃の困りごとやニーズを伺い、参加者同士の交流を深めることを目的に開催しました。
イベントの前半では、国際交流員シルビアさん・生活環境課職員によるオリエンテーションを行いました。
生活環境課職員によるごみの分別の説明では、参加者が実際にごみを分別するデモンストレーションも行われました。皆さん真剣な表情で話を聞き、熱心に取り組んでいる姿が印象的でした。

 

イベントの後半では、グループに分かれて自己紹介とテーマについてのディスカッションを行いました。「守谷の好きな場所」や「守谷にあったらいいなと思うサービス」などをテーマに意見を交わし、グループごとに話し合った内容を発表しました。

参加者を対象としたアンケートでは、90%以上の方が「またこのようなイベントに参加したい」と回答してくださいました。主な感想やご意見として、以下のような声が寄せられました。

• もっと開催頻度を増やしてほしい。
• 過ごしやすいイベントでした。今後も外国人向けのイベントを続けてほしいです。
• 守谷は住みやすいと思います。育児も楽しい。いろいろな施設があります。

イベント終了後には、希望者を対象に守谷市国際交流協会（MIFA）主催による昼食会が行われ、さらに交流を深めました。
市民協働推進課では、今後もこのようなイベントを継続して開催していく予定です。

Exchange Meeting for Foreigners

 On June 21 （Sun）, the Division for Citizen Cooperation hosted the “Exchange Meeting for Foreigners” at the International Exchange Training Center （Log House）.
 The event was aimed to help foreign residents living in Moriya and neighbouring municipalities in their daily life by introducing important information for residents, listening to their common problems and needs as well as fostering exchange between the participants.

 In the first half of the event, Moriya‘s Coordinator for International Relations, Sylvia, and staff from the Civil Affairs and Environment Division presented an overview of administrative services （in Moriya city and Ibaraki prefecture）, traffic rules for bicycles, disaster prevention and waste separation.
 The explanation on waste separation also included a hands-on-demonstration in which the participants actively took part. It was impressive to see everyone listening intently and enthusiastically taking in the new information.

 In the second half of the event, the participants were divided into groups to do self-introductions and discuss topics like “My favourite places in Moriya” and “Services I would like to see in Moriya.” Afterwards, each group presented their results.
 In the questionnaire that was handed out in the end, 90% of the participants answered “I would like to participate in this kind of event again”. The following impressions and opinions were expressed as well.

・ I hope you will increase the frequency of these events.
・ It was a pleasant event. I hope you will organise more events for foreigners in the future.
・ I think living in Moriya is comfortable. Childcare here is enjoyable as well. There are many facilities.

 After the event, the Moriya International Friendship Association （MIFA） sponsored a luncheon for interested participants to enable further exchange.
 The Division for Citizen Cooperation plans to continue organising these kinds of events in the future.
