国際交流員／Coordinator for International Relations（CIR）

国際交流員（CIR）とは

国際交流員（通称CIR：Coordinator for International Relationsの略）とは、主に地方公共団体の国際交流担当部局等で国際交流活動を行う職員です。

地方自治体が総務省、外務省、文部科学省及び一般財団法人自治体国際化協会（CLAIR）の協力の下に実施しているJETプログラム（語学指導等を行う外国青年招致事業）により、世界各国から招致されます。

守谷市では、平成10年から国際交流員を任用し、現在はドイツ出身の国際交流員1名が市民協働推進課で活躍しています。

国際姉妹都市との交流における通訳業務のほか、ドイツ語講座等の企画や市民団体活動への派遣を通して、ドイツ文化を広めるとともに、国際交流の機会を提供しています。

シルビアさんからのメッセージ／Message from Sylvia

守谷市の皆さん、ドイツから来た守谷市の国際交流員のシルビアです。

私はドイツ西部にあるノルトライン・ヴェストファーレン州の州都であるデュッセルドルフ出身です。デュッセルドルフはライン川のすぐそばにあり、世界中からさまざまな人が集まってきます。ドイツについてもっと知りたい方は、いつでも気軽に聞いてください！

デュッセルドルフには、ヨーロッパで3番目、ドイツで最大の日本人コミュニティがあります。デュッセルドルフには日系企業が500社以上あるので、子供の頃から住んでいるだけで日本食レストランやお店、会社を見ることができました。

自分で生まれた街の大きな部分をもっと知りたいと思いましたから、高校生の時に日本語を習い始めました。先生が日本にいたときの話をしてくれて、私は日本についてもっと知りたいと思い、大学で日本学を専攻することにしました。

大学のとき、合計3年間日本で過ごすことができました。素晴らしい経験をして、日本文化を知って、たくさんの素敵な人に出会えました。卒業後は、いつかまた日本に住みたいと思っていました。その願いが叶い、守谷市で国際交流員として働けるようになりました。

守谷での生活や仕事、そして守谷に住む人々との交流は、私にとって日本をより深く知るための貴重な機会です。

守谷市では、ドイツ語講座をはじめ国際交流を促進するためのイベントを定期的に開催し、派遣を希望する様々な団体のためにドイツや国際交流についての出前講座も実施します。国籍問わずに、人と人を繋ぐ「一緒に話す、学ぶ、笑う」ことを軸にした生き生きした国際交流を目指して、皆様にお会いできるのを楽しみにしています。

Hello everyone! My name is Sylvia and I am the Coordinator for International Relations（CIR）in Moriya.

I am from Duesseldorf, the capital of the federal state of North-Rhine Westphalia in the western part of Germany. It lies right by the river Rhine and attracts all different kinds of people from all over the world. If you want to know more about my hometown, please feel free to ask me anytime!

Duesseldorf is home to the third largest Japanese community in Europe and the largest one in Germany. There are over 500 Japanese companies just in Duesseldorf so even as a child, I could see the Japanese restaurants, shops and companies just by living there.

I was interested in learning more about this large part of my hometown which is one of the reasons I started learning Japanese when I was in high school. My teacher would tell stories about his time in Japan and I wanted to learn even more about it, which is why I decided to study Japanese Studies in university.

During my studies, I was able to spent a total of three years in Japan. After graduating, I wanted to be able to live in Japan again for a longer period of time and this wish came true when I was accepted as Coordinator for International Relations in Moriya.

Living and working in Moriya as well as interacting with the people living here is a great opportunity to learn more about Japan.

I regularly organize events to foster international exchange in Moriya, for example German language classes. I also give speeches and hold workshops about Germany or international exchange for various organizations on request. My aim is a lively international exchange that connects people regardless of their nationality by talking, learning and laughing together! I am looking forward to meeting you!
